Ruelo Lozendo is a filmmaker based in Manila. An alumnus of the Mowelfund Film Institute, he has written and directed short and full-length films. His short film Simula is a National Commission for Culture and the Arts Cinema Grant recipient, which premiered at the Singapore International Film Festival and will be in exhibition in Edmonton, Canada this year. He directed one of the three segments in Pandanggo, a feature film finalist in Cinema One Originals 2006. In 2008, he has also represented the Philippines in Blink, a worldwide collection of artists' digital interpretations of their world in the brink of change, with his video piece, Homing.

Kolorete, his feature length directorial debut, won the Special Jury Prize in the 2008 edition of the Cinema One Originals Digital Film Festival, also bagging the Best Production Design and Best Musical Score. The said film has also been in exhibition at the Los Angeles Asia Pacific Film Festival as well as in competition at the Madrid Indian Film Festival in Spain.

Aside from acquiring training from the Mowelfund Film Institute, he has also taken a master class in Cinematography in Los Angeles and participated in the 2008 Berlinale Forum as part of the delegation of Years When I Was A Child Outside, a film by John Torres which he edited, to further explore the possibilities of filmmaking and the parameters of his art.
